OBSCURE & EVERYDAY TRAVEL AND CULTURE
Hey, I’m Tara. An innate passion for all things foreign and the experience of having visited over forty five foreign countries and living in four more has left travel meaning much more to me than ticking off the next Spanish cathedral or visiting another Buddhist monastery. It’s become about the weird and the wonderful – dark tourism and bizarre sights inspired from websites like Atlas Obscura. It’s become about understanding the social, political, historical, economic and cultural backgrounds of the places that I visit.
But it’s also become about much, much less. It’s sitting in a cafe and striking up a conversation with a local. Everyday experiences in a different context. And little fascinating differences and nuances with everything back home.
So join me for travel tips, stories and inspiration and information and analysis on culture and much more about how your travels can become much more, and much less, than just another guidebook tick list.
